Last Updated: May 29, 2026
This document contains two parts:
The Privacy Policy in Part B is incorporated by reference into the Terms of Service in Part A. Together they constitute a single binding agreement between you and the operator of the Software.
The Software is operated as eqd2calculator.com ("we," "us," or "our"). All notices, requests, and inquiries should be sent to feedback@eqd2calculator.com.
By accessing or using the Software, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Software.
The Software is an informational calculation tool. It is not a medical device within the meaning of applicable medical-device legislation in jurisdictions such as Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, or equivalent jurisdictions.
The Software has not been reviewed, cleared, registered, approved, CE-marked, UKCA-marked, certified, or authorized by Health Canada, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the MHRA, any EU Notified Body, or any other medical-device regulatory authority.
The Software is not a radiation treatment planning system, a dose-volume histogram tool, or a validated clinical decision support system. It is not intended for clinical application and must not be used as the primary, sole, or determinative basis for any treatment planning, replanning, composite plan evaluation, or dose prescription decision concerning any patient.
By using the Software, you represent and warrant that you are either a licensed medical professional (e.g., radiation oncologist, medical physicist, radiation therapist) or an authorized healthcare researcher operating under institutional oversight, aged eighteen (18) years or older, and that you possess the expertise to independently interpret and verify the outputs produced by the Software.
The Software does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. Calculations (including Biologically Effective Dose, EQD2, and related outputs) are produced solely from mathematical formulas applied to variables you input.
You acknowledge that it is solely the treating clinician's responsibility to verify all calculated outputs by independent means before relying on them. Independent verification may include manual recalculation, a validated treatment planning system, validated secondary verification software, or documented peer review by another qualified clinician.
You acknowledge that the Software may produce incorrect or inaccurate calculations due to software bugs, floating-point limitations, incorrect formula implementation, wrong defaults, user input errors, browser/device incompatibility, corrupted local storage, interrupted page loads, or updates. We disclaim liability for miscalculations to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Any reliance on outputs produced by the Software is strictly at your own risk. We assume no responsibility or liability for clinical decisions or patient outcomes resulting from use of the Software.
Before first use, the Software requires you to affirmatively attest that: (a) you are a licensed healthcare professional or authorized researcher as described above; (b) you will not enter patient-identifiable information into the Software; (c) you understand the Software is not a validated clinical tool and is not intended for clinical application; and (d) you will independently verify all outputs before reliance.
The Software is made available at no charge. The disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnities in these Terms reflect an allocation of risk consistent with a no-cost offering.
See Part B (Privacy Policy) for full detail. In summary: as of the Last Updated date, the Software is a static, client-side application. The clinical values you enter into the calculator are processed entirely within your browser; we do not collect, transmit, or store those inputs. We do not use cookies or advertising. We do use a privacy-respecting, cookieless web analytics service to measure aggregate, non-identifying site usage (for example, page views and approximate country of origin), as described in Part B §3.5. You must not enter patient-identifiable data into the Software.
The Software and associated materials are the copyrighted work of the operator of eqd2calculator.com. Subject to compliance with these Terms, you are granted a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Software for professional informational purposes.
You agree not to use the Software for unlawful purposes, for clinical decision-making without independent verification, to reverse engineer the Software (except where law allows), to impair its functionality, to create a competing product that reproduces its implementation, or to remove or obscure proprietary notices.
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for errors in calculation. Our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the Software (CAD $0), to the extent permitted by law.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Software or your violation of these Terms.
We may modify or discontinue the Software at any time. We may amend these Terms; the "Last Updated" date reflects the most recent version.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada. Disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the Vancouver International Arbitration Centre (VanIAC), subject to carve-outs for injunctive relief and small-claims actions.
This section addresses certain jurisdiction-specific rules and consumer protections for users in the UK, United States, and EEA.
These Terms (with the Privacy Policy) constitute the entire agreement. They include standard provisions on severability, waiver, assignment, force majeure, and language.
Questions about these Terms may be directed to feedback@eqd2calculator.com.

This Privacy Policy describes how we handle data in connection with the Software and is incorporated into the Terms of Service.
Short version (current practices): the Software is a static, client-side application that runs in your browser. The clinical values you enter into the calculator are processed entirely on your device; we do not collect, transmit, receive, or store those inputs, and we do not use cookies or advertising. We do use a privacy-respecting, cookieless web analytics service to measure aggregate site usage — such as page views and the approximate country a visit comes from. This service does not use cookies, does not track you across other sites, and is designed not to identify you as an individual (see §3.5).
Short version (reserved rights): we may change these practices in the future. If we do, we will update this Privacy Policy, provide notice, and obtain any required consent.
The Software is operated as eqd2calculator.com. Contact: feedback@eqd2calculator.com.
This Policy applies to the Software as delivered from eqd2calculator.com and not to third-party sites or services.
Computation occurs in your browser. Network activity consists of (a) the initial download of the static application files and (b) a lightweight, cookieless analytics beacon described in §3.5. The clinical values you enter into the calculator — doses, fractions, and other inputs — are processed entirely within your browser and are not transmitted to us or any third party.
We do not operate user accounts, receive or store your calculator inputs centrally, use cookies, use third-party error-reporting services, share or sell personal data, or serve advertising. The only measurement we perform is the privacy-respecting, cookieless web analytics described in §3.5.
The Software uses browser localStorage to retain courses, inputs, and preferences on your device. This data is not currently transmitted to us and may be deleted via your browser's site data settings.
The content delivery network hosting the Software may record technical request logs (such as IP address, timestamp, and user agent) as part of delivering and securing the site. This is standard hosting-level logging and is separate from the analytics described in §3.5. We do not access or analyze these hosting logs for user-profiling purposes.
We use a privacy-respecting, cookieless web analytics service to understand aggregate, non-identifying usage of the Software — for example, page views, approximate country of origin, referring website, and general device or browser type. We currently use Cloudflare Web Analytics. This service loads a small analytics script and does not set cookies, does not use fingerprinting, and does not track you across other websites. It is designed to avoid retaining personal data; some limited technical data (such as IP address and user agent) may be processed transiently to deliver the service. We may change analytics providers in the future and will update this Policy accordingly, using only providers consistent with these principles. This measurement is separate from, and does not capture, the clinical values you enter into the calculator, which remain on your device (see §3.1 and §3.3).
Other than the aggregate, cookieless web analytics described in §3.5, we may in the future introduce additional practices such as expanded telemetry, user accounts, cookies, additional third-party providers, advertising, data sharing or sale, and derived datasets. Any such additional practices will be implemented only after updated policies, notice, and any required consent.
We use only privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics designed not to process personal data. To the extent any limited processing occurs through that service, it is configured to avoid collecting personally identifying information and to avoid building profiles of identifiable individuals. We do not operate user accounts or otherwise determine the purposes and means of processing personal data about identifiable individuals in a manner that would make us a "controller" of substantive personal data under the EU/UK GDPR. If we implement broader collection practices in the future, we will act as a controller to the extent applicable and update this Policy accordingly.
If and when we process personal data, we will provide GDPR/CCPA-compliant transparency information. Currently we hold no personal data about users. The table below documents the GDPR Articles 13–14 transparency disclosure requirements, our current position, and our commitments if future data collection is introduced.

Currently: we hold no personal data. Future rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection) are described and will be provided if and when data collection is implemented.
The Software is intended for licensed professionals aged 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Currently none. If future practices involve transfers, we will implement appropriate safeguards.
The Software is delivered over HTTPS. Data stored in your browser is protected by browser-origin security. We recommend using modern browsers and not entering patient-identifiable information.
We may update this Policy from time to time; material changes implementing reserved practices will be announced with advance notice and any required consent mechanisms.
Questions, concerns, or requests: feedback@eqd2calculator.com. We will respond within applicable statutory timeframes.
